Check the knowing look on Steve Austin's face above; he'd been through something vaguely similar to Brock Lesnar and Bill Goldberg a few years before their WrestleMania XX disaster, but didn't have to suffer the indignity of a sold out Madison Square Garden letting him know he was unwanted.

MSG went hard on Brock and Bill in 2004.

News had spread that both planned to leave WWE shortly after the pay-per-view, so the typically-fired up New York masses decided to shove them through the federation exit doors. People took an almighty dump on what was supposed to be the star attraction on the undercard, and 'Stone Cold' cringed his way through it as special ref.

The whole exercise was approx 14 minutes of torture for Goldberg and Lesnar. They didn't want to be there at all, and MSG sure wasn't going to politely sit around applauding any of their exchanges. Nah, this was a real 'f*ck you' to both men.
