10 WWE Wrestlers HYPED Vince McMahon Is Gone

2. Ciampa

Triple H has already positioned Ciampa as a Raw centrepiece since taking control of creative, giving him a considerable rub through his run at Bobby Lashley's United States Championship.

Ciampa was unsuccessful in dethroning Lashley. This is no great shame, given the level of protection given to the current US Champion, and Ciampa is stronger for his tussle with this gigantic opponent. WWE is giving him the opportunity to get over on the strength of his wrestling, and his Miz partnership, while imperfect, at least provides the opportunity for a turn, feud, and credible midcard victory.

This spotlight would not have existed for Ciampa had McMahon not departed WWE. Those first few main roster weeks told you everything you need to know about how Vince saw the former NXT Champion, who was effectively Miz's henchman. A goon. This is where he would have stayed positioned for a while, before inevitably getting lost in the Main Event swamp after losing their eventual feud.
