After Roman Reigns finally turned heel at SummerSlam 2020 and became The Tribal Chief (and the hottest character in all of pro wrestling), talk amplified online about a possible match down the road with The Rock.

After getting injured at WrestleMania 29, The Rock has always been open to the idea of wrestling again if everything came together in the perfect way and he had the right opponent he could draw huge box office with. With a villainous Roman Reigns, he has that. There’s even the backstory of them being connected through their Samoan heritage.

It was reported the reason The Rock vetoed the proposed match at WrestleMania 37 was due to him understandably wanting thousands of fans in attendance at WrestleMania and in the arenas in the build up to it on TV. He didn’t want to dilute the feud by shooting angles in the ThunderDome. With Rock feeding off the electricity of the crowd, it’s hard to argue with him.

Fingers crossed for AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas for WrestleMania 38 that WWE can convince Rock to come back for the Reigns showdown.
