The Undertaker has ticked a heck of a lot of boxes over the course of his 26 year long career. The Deadman has won multiple championships, headlined PPVs, wrestled in more matches at WrestleMania than anyone else, and had numerous gimmick matches created in his honour. When the pantheon of the greats assemble, The Undertaker will sit comfortably at the top of the table.

'Taker has seen a lot of men come and go in those years, and there aren't a whole lot of top names who haven't stood across the ring awaiting the gong and imminent arrival of the Deadman. Competing against Undertaker is talked of as a great honour, albeit a slightly terrifying one.

A small number of legends and champions only had this honour on television or PPV once. They include kings, snakes, WrestleMania headliners, and wrestling porn stars. Would they wish for a second encounter? Maybe, but for some once is enough. Not a single one of them came out on top.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
