Continuing the theme from the previous entry, Montel Vontavious Porter and The Undertaker shared a WWE ring on 56 occasions. Only two of these bouts were one-on-one, and only one of those took place on a WWE broadcast. It'll surprise no one to know that the match took place on SmackDown in early December 2006, when MVP was getting the push of a lifetime.

It was this push that saved MVP from eating a pinfall on that night, with the match ending in a no contest after a fairly one-sided five minutes of action. The finish came as Mr. Kennedy tried to get involved only to get waylaid by 'Taker, bringing Kane out to even up the numbers.

MVP is one of many heels from the mid 2000s that WWE seemed reluctant to get completely behind. Carlito, Mr. Kennedy, Chris Masters, and more all fit the same bracket, but MVP may well have been the most talented of the bunch. In a different world, these two would have faced off on multiple occasions.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
