Ken Shamrock was another integral part of the Attitude Era and yet another individual who maybe didn't reach the heights that many believed he was capable of reaching. Shamrock was hugely over as a wild card babyface fighting machine, and then equally as over as a corporate henchman.

Shamrock's only televised one-on-one match with The Undertaker was the semi-main event of Backlash 1999, the very first Backlash event in history. 'Taker was feuding with The Corporation at the time, with his sights firmly set on Stephanie McMahon. He had vanquished The Big Boss Man at WrestleMania XV, and Shamrock was in his way at Backlash.

Shamrock was something of a trailblazer when it came to incorporating submissions and MMA into pro wrestling, and he brought plenty of that to the table in this match. It wasn't enough however, as 'Taker picked up the win after interference from Bradshaw.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
