10 WWE Wrestlers Triple H SAVED In 2022

2. Shayna Baszler

Years ago, Triple H laughed and told Vince: 'NXT's Shayna Baszler is such a solid character; you couldn't possibly ruin her on the main roster'. McMahon leaned back in his chair, guffawed back and asked: 'Wanna bet?!'. Obviously, this is a made-up scenario, but it'd explain a lot.

Shayna was saddled with Nia Jax as a tag team partner for too long. Then, as if that wasn't bad enough, Baszler started sh*tting it from dolls (Alexa Bliss' Lilly doll) and eventually became nothing more than hired-in muscle for Sonya Deville on SmackDown. Her WWE career was regrettably going nowhere.

The past few months have solved (almost) everything though.

Shayna is aligned with Ronda Rousey, who will always be taken seriously around this place. Further, she's being booked as an unstoppable, limb-wrecking badass again. One booking decision (putting her next to Rousey) and a few weeks of consistent writing was all it took to save Baszler from further WWE ignominy.
