10 WWE Wrestlers Vince McMahon Couldn't Control

9. Chris Jericho

A mild case of Vince McMahon being unable to control a wrestler, but a case nonetheless, Chris Jericho has essentially dictated the pace of his own career for the past seven years. When 'Y2J' wants to take a hiatus, he generally gets his way, despite being one of the most selfless, giving wrestlers on the roster whenever he's active with the company.

Few other wrestling stars have ever been able to come and go like Jericho does. Writing, recording, and touring with Fozzy has seen him take countless breaks since returning to the company in 2007, yet this hasn't hindered his push at all. He remains one of the promotion's most strongly featured wrestlers when he's around, and while his World Title days are probably long gone, WWE still value him as a performer.

On top of this, there are plenty of stories of 'Y2J' standing up to his employer, with a post-WrestleMania X8 paycheck argument the most well known example (Jericho won, by the way). All of this showcases a man with near unparalleled freedom to generally do as he pleases within a notoriously restrictive company.
