10 WWE Wrestlers Vince McMahon Loves (But The Internet Hates)
7. Ronda Rousey
Ronda Rousey seemed to have everything that ticked Vinnie Mac's boxes when she came to the WWE.
Her history as a judo champion, Olympian, and UFC Champion lent her a legitimacy that guaranteed we'd one day see her propelled to the top of the women's division on whatever show she worked. Any doubters were soon put at ease by an impressive showing alongside Kurt Angle against Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. Joining her in WWE were the other members of the Four Horsewomen of MMA, and it was long thought that they would face off against the Four Horsewomen of WWE eventually.
Had their new golden girl been given a more organic rise through the ranks, Ronda may still have been a member of the roster, but fast-tracking her to the top of the pile soon backfired on McMahon. "You can't wrestle!" chants filling arenas was not a good look for the company's top female performer, and things only got worse when Ronda publically announced "F*ck these fans, dude!"
Not even Vince's trademarked advice to smile at the audience could cover the cracks forming after that and Ronda soon left the company. In hindsight, the protestations were ridiculous: Rousey's big match record speaks for itself.
