10 WWE Wrestlers Who Benefited Most From Turning Heel

7. Booker T

King Booker World Heavyweight Champion

A fan favourite in WCW, Booker T found himself lost in the WWE shuffle soon after signing terms following the 2001 merger, getting only a brief taste of the main event spotlight when he - unsuccessfully - challenged Triple H for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XIX.

It took Booker until the middle of 2006, when he won the King of the Ring tournament and, naturally, began wearing a cape and crown thereafter, for him to truly break through Vince McMahon's glass ceiling.

Affecting a snobbish, uptight attitude - a complete 180 from the down-to-earth one with which he had spent most of his wrestling career - the five-time world champ was instantly flung towards the top of the card, where he duly beat Rey Mystero for number six.
