By 1996, The Undertaker needed something to get him out of his doldrums. While still popular, it was clear that his constant feuds with lumbering giants was going to keep him in a box (often after he'd put them in one).

Thankfully, Mick Foley came into the fold and broke 'Taker out of that box. It was his feud with Mankind in 1996 that allowed the Deadman to show off his in-ring chops and evolve his character into something more befitting the upcoming Attitude Era. And of course, everyone is familiar with 'Taker and Foley's rekindled feud in 1998, which resulted in the iconic Hell in a Cell match that to this day has set the bar to impossible heights.

You have to wonder why WWE never gave Foley a match with 'Taker at WrestleMania given how important he was for his development. Foley had three different personas that easily could have made intriguing WrestleMania programs with the Undertaker. Obviously, we know how well Mankind worked, but can you imagine an Undertaker/Cactus Jack feud? Heck, even a program with corporate heel Dude Love would have been interesting.

Mick Foley easily deserved one of the years 'Taker wasted battling Sid, Boss Man, and Mark Henry.
