WWE took Chad Gable, fresh off an incredible showing in 2019's King of the Ring tournament, and repackaged him as Shorty bloody G.
Continuous jibes about his height from King Corbin were the catalyst for this change, and although he has defeated Corbin on numerous occasions, in a preposterous storyline Gable has embraced who he is through this new moniker.
As if the godawful name change wasn't enough, Shorty G (who incidentally is pretty much the same height as Ali) has new gear that makes him look even more ridiculous than his name would suggest.
A garish blue and green ensemble not only covers Gable's incredible physique, but it makes him look like a child playing basketball at school, and the G on his chest has height markers on it to remind you how tiny he is.
WWE seem to believe this is the ideal way to get a performer that was already over with the fans...over. In reality, the name change has cut the legs out from underneath Gable, and that's the last thing he needs.
