The Ezekiel character was getting quite over with the WWE audience earlier this year, which is why it is quite surprising that Triple H decided to kill the character so soon after taking charge. The beardless 'brother' of Elias was an entertaining character shift that was needed for the musician, who has been performing as 'The Drifter' on the main roster for over half a decade.

Having Elias return to his old guise just didn't make sense given that Ezekiel was a far more interesting prospect at this time in the wrestler's career. WWE was even teasing more characters within the family, but fans never got to see the hotly anticipated debut of Elrod in the end.

The former 24/7 Champion has never really been given a sustained push within the company, which is not necessarily without reason as he is a relatively limited in-ring performer. However, both Elias and Ezekiel have proven to be entertaining characters that could be worthy of a more committed push that doesn't see him go 50/50 with whoever he faces.
