Wrestle Kingdom 13 would prove to be a monumental night for New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Mere days before, a new wrestling promotion had been officially announced by some of the biggest stars the company had helped make in the past decade.

All Elite Wrestling - ever heard of it?

AEW's birth brought into question the future of a certain Kenny Omega. He was best buds with Cody and The Young Bucks, but he was also the current IWGP Heavyweight Champion having beaten Kazuchika Okada for the belt in their epic battle at Dominion.

What was Kenny going to do? Was he going to drop the belt to Hiroshi Tanahashi and go join his friends? Or was he going to retain the gold and stay on as New Japan's biggest star?

Well, we didn't have to wait long to find out.

Whilst making his entrance, Omega looked rattled, like he was completely unsure of himself. He was clearly racked with guilt about his decision to leave Japan, which all but confirmed that he was dropping the strap.

Oh, and then he mouthed the words "One last time" into the camera.

Yep, that'll do it!
