10 WWE Wrestlers Who Just Missed A Grand Slam Championship

2. John Cena

Now here’s a person who very well could become a Grand Slam champion before his career is over.

John Cena has tied Ric Flair’s record for world title reigns at 16, has held the United States Championship on five different occasions (one off Flair’s WCW record), and has been a tag champ four times, with four different partners (Miz, Batista, Shawn Michaels and David Otunga).

While Cena has never held the Intercontinental Championship, it’s entirely plausible that he could win the title in the twilight of his career. Cena made an entire gimmick of holding open challenges for his US title, so holding a secondary title again is not something out of the realm of possibility.

And really, of all the guys in the latter stages of their careers, Cena is probably the most likely to join this club, just to provide that cherry on the top.
