10 WWE Wrestlers Who Need A Fresh Start In 2021
5. Murphy
What seemed like a promising year for the Australian superstar turned out to be far more bittersweet.
When Murphy pledged his allegiance to Seth Rollins it seemed like a great opportunity, and it was for some time. As a disciple of Rollins he received some deserved exposure along with a refreshing heel turn. It was going reasonably well until the feud with the Mysterio family just didn't seem to want to end.
What started out as a promising rivalry ended up outstaying it's welcome by months. There were some good matches but ultimately the feud will be remembered for just how stubbornly long it was. Murphy ended up leaving his alliance with Seth Rollins and turned face when he entered into an on-screen relationship with Aalyah Mysterio, daughter of Rey. This development was divisive but did lead Murphy to defeating Rollins in a feud-ending match.
Certainly not a terrible year by any account for Murphy but he needs to freshen up his act as we head to the new year and distance himself from the Mysterio family. Murphy is a wonderful, athletic wrestler and given the right push could be a great, fighting Intercontinental Champion in 2021.
