Lesson: How to get over with a hokey gimmick.

The team eventually known as The Viking Raiders have had a tough time getting their feet on the ground on the main roster.

Understandable, when you've had more name changes than title wins on the Raw brand. When the two are in full swing they are as dominant as they are visually intimidating. It's within these visuals that we uncover the issue.

On NXT, the two were given the creative freedom to add theatricality and trepidation to their act with grand entrances to TakeOver shows (TakeOver: New York adding an army to escort them to the ring, to the sound of the banging of their shields). Since their debut on Raw this year, the two have struggled to recreate that feeling of impending dread - that's not to say it cannot be done.

The Legion of Doom carved a career out of establishing that atmosphere. Using their entrances to set the tone for the brutal, in-ring bullying that was about to take place. The Raiders have a higher level of athleticism and they've got the body armour down, if they can infuse what made 'LOD' so beloved by the fans, they could set themselves up for a mega run.
