10 WWE Wrestlers Who Never Truly Evolved
1. Randy Orton
If you built the perfect wrestler from the ground up, you’d have Randy Orton. Such is the received wisdom when it comes to Randal Keith. Perhaps the old adage holds true... If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
Over the years, “The Viper” had gone by various nicknames. Various haircuts have perched above his chiselled features, washboard abs and tiny trunks. Still, his persona has hardly altered, regardless of where he sits on the face/heel alignment at any given time.
Always a slow, deliberate promo and a slow, methodical worker, “The Legend Killer,” seems content to play it safe, in every sense.
While his contemporary John Cena made certain concessions to the WWE landscape that was changing around him, Randy seems content to stick with his tried and trusted in ring style.
As a result, while Cena produced bangers against the likes of Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, Orton regularly disappointed against more explosive talents like AJ Styles. At least there will always be the chance of an RKO out of nowhere - as is still the case during his current RK-Bro tenure.
