10 WWE Wrestlers Who Reinvented Themselves In TNA
8. Goldust - Black Reign
Goldust was one of the most unique gimmicks in the history of wrestling. A complete departure from the Texas cowboy of old, the all-gold superstar from Hollywood was a total wrestling rebirth for Dustin Rhodes.
Unfortunately, outside of the Goldust gimmick, it's fair to say that Rhodes had mixed results.
The Artist Formerly Known As Goldust was an awkward diversion from the original in 1998, while his cup of coffee as Seven in 1999 WCW was an immediate failed experiment. Ever the creative, Dustin continued to reinvent himself in TNA, degenerating into a darker, more sadistic side of his personality. That personality eventually found the name of Black Reign.
Essentially a black and silver version of the Goldust character with a hardcore twist, Black Reign debuted at Hard Justice 2007. Sporting a black wig, Rhodes' newest alter ego habitually carried a spiked staff with him to the ring, while he also had a bizarre infatuation with a pet rat.
After eight months, the gimmick received it's final curtain call, winning just three matches out of 22 televised bouts.
