10 WWE Wrestlers Who Told You They Were Pissed

3. Sami Zayn Says What We're All Thinking

The life of the hardcore WWE fan is difficult.

Faced with constant criticism of their product online, they can only enter a defensive frame of mind. The product cannot be bad - they love it, so that is impossible - so the critic must be at fault. Yes, that's it. The critics are biased, they have an agenda, or they are misinformed. You see that last defensive mechanism rather often. Some fans think Dave Meltzer's "plans change" line is him walking back a story as opposed to an accurate follow-up report based on Vince McMahon changing direction on one of his mad whims.

Sami Zayn however confirmed the chaotic nature of WWE's creative approach in June of this year, and nobody tells him to touch grass or get some bitches. It's not as if Zayn is some disgruntled, under-used talent stuck in catering, either, which might affect his perspective and credibility. He's never enjoyed such a featured run as he has in 2022.

"There are times when I'm frustrated with it," Zayn opened up to Corey Graves on After The Bell. Zayn said that he sometimes thinks things are so chaotic, so down to the wire, that the entire process is so untenable that it might "explode".

He used spin to claim that it might even be a good thing - the crew is so talented that the show always makes air in some form - but isn't that the absolute bare minimum of a television show?

That it exists?
