10 WWE Wrestlers Who Were Too Entertaining For Their Own Good

Tye Dillinger is a classic example of what happens when a gimmick overshadows the person behind it.

Dillinger's 'Perfect 10' gimmick caught on fire in WWE, with crowds eagerly chanting Tye's favourite number before, during and after his matches. Just check out the clip of him entering at No. 10 in the 2017 Royal Rumble to see how over the gimmick was with the audience, and to remind yourself how excited people used to get over NXT call-ups before the brand self-destructed.

Unfortunately, in a tale that has become wearily familiar to WWE viewers, the company botched Dillinger's 'promotion' from NXT to the main roster. The Perfect 10 looked anything but on Smackdown, with a feud against fellow Smackdown straggler Aiden English (more on whom later) and a zinger about Baron Corbin losing his Money in the Bank contract is the only faintly memorable moments of his time on the blue brand.

Dillinger was yet another hugely over NXT talent left to waste in a company that had no idea how to book him, and despite his AEW career not yet hitting the heights many think he's capable of he's undoubtedly better off in Tony Khan's promotion.
