6. Johnny Gargano
Like husband, like wife.
Johnny Gargano, the real-life husband of the previously mentioned Candice LeRae, suffers from many of the same problems as his spouse. He's talented, hard-working, respected, and more. Yet, his WWE career seems to be going nowhere, and his clock is ticking down. However, things feel even worse for Gargano as he got a strong taste of success in NXT, only for it to go out like a damp firecracker.
The former member of DIY, alongside Tommaso Ciampa, was a mainstay in the developmental brand, becoming the face of the territory and winning multiple titles. It's safe to say this has yet to translate into his main roster career, as Gargano always feels like an additional player haphazardly chucked into events to boost the numbers.
Many expected him to thrive under the rule of Triple H, considering that the King of Kings gave him his thriving NXT career. But, the overarching hand of Vince McMahon and a lack of strong connection to the audience seems to have crushed those dreams.
Gargano is great but lacks the unique presence, charisma and backing to stand atop Raw or SmackDown.
