Lex Luger may have won and lost Vince McMahon's heart in the time between SummerSlam 1993 and WrestleMania X, but it didn't stop him emerging victorious more often that not during a difficult overall experience with the organisation.

As 'The Narcissist', Luger went undefeated for several months until he was repackaged as a walking talking USA flag for a WWE Championship clash with Yokozuna. Though he was aggressively scaled back and shunted down the card following his failure to secure the strap at his first attempt, the booking tended to look after him with hollow victories against main roster rank-and-files.

Though he suffered discouraging pay-per-view losses in his final full year with the company, the majority of Luger's time was spent battering jobbers or lower-card goons in meaningless television matches. This was far worse for him that losing contests that actually mattered, but such was life for a former favourite constantly trapped on the WWE backburner after the Lex Express ran out of fuel.
