In his various runs with WWE from 2001 to 2010, Akio primarily competed in SmackDown's cruiserweight division. Even as Jimmy Wang Yang, he was never utilized as anything other than an enhancement talent, hence why his June 2008 suspension came as somewhat of a surprise.

In accordance with the WWE Wellness Policy, he was suspended for 30 days, but didn't miss much in his absence. At that time, he sparingly appeared on the blue brand as it was, so it wasn't long before he was back to losing to the likes of Vladimir Kozlov and The Brian Kendrick.

Yang later revealed in an interview with Highspots.com following his departure from WWE that he tested positive for cocaine after partaking in use of the drug while partying. What, have you never heard that jobbers party hard?
