Date First WWE Title Won: August 15th, 2004

Age: 24 years, 4 months, 14 days

Randy Orton's original stint with the company's top title wasn't destined for the heights his career would eventually ascend to, but just six months removed from Brock Lesnar's WWE exit, the 'Legend Killer' broke 'The Beast's record with a SummerSlam main event victory over Chris Benoit.

Observers at the time felt Orton's push may have been expedited just to cynically erase Lesnar from the top of lists just like this, but it was hard to argue against the growing momentum behind the cocky Evolution member after powerful rivalries with Mick Foley and Edge earlier in the year.

In beating Benoit, his history-making match rarely makes air, but Orton's abreviated time with the title at least gains notoriety for his ill-fated babyface turn that followed. After the Triple H-led group turned on him 24 hours later, Randy stumbled as a babyface and was himself dethroned at the company's very next pay-per-view, Unforgiven.

His bloody Evolution exit ironically became the reign's only noteworthy occurrence.
