God loves a trier, right?

Only a few months into his initial Hurricane run, Shane Helms got a little too big for his boots in the 2002 Royal Rumble.

Entering at #23, The Hurricane arrived at a time when there were just two men in the ring: Steve Austin and Triple H. With both of those main event stars down and out, Helms’ eyes lit up at the prospect of a double chokeslam as the two future Hall of Famers staggered to their feet.

Brilliantly, Austin and Trips’ faces went from the anguish of having a fella’s hand round their throat, to looking at each other in disbelief upon realising it was Hurricane, who they quickly eliminated before restarting their own heated rivalry.
