Nobody really knew what to do as precious pay-per-view minutes ticked down on the 2005 show. The banner Rumble match had ended in disaster when John Cena and Batista accidentally spilled out of the ring and hit the floor at the same time. That, unlike another moment approximately 20 years earlier, hadn't been on the format sheets.

Vince McMahon was apoplectic.

He raced out from behind the curtain, banged his knees against the metal framing on the apron when sliding into the ring, and promptly ripped both quadricep muscles clean off the bone. Oh dear. The sight of a grounded McMahon barking instructions at panicky referees and two rather confused top stars would become legendary, which is why it's here.

Vince told refs to restart the Rumble so they could determine a clear winner. Then, as planned before all of this, Batista won and moved on to 'Mania. Meanwhile, McMahon went to hospital and somebody defo got it in the neck for things going wrong.
