100 Greatest WWE Royal Rumble Moments Ever
26. Warrior & Hogan Collide (1990)
Words can't adequately describe just how pumped WWF fans were to see Hulk Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior go nose to nose at the 1990 Royal Rumble. Warrior entered first at #21, then Hogan followed him in as #25. The pop for both was insane, but Hulk's was louder. Just saying. Hulkamaniacs beat the Little Warriors there.
Orlando kept the biggest reaction of the night back for a showdown between these superhero-like babyfaces. Warrior and Hogan were left alone to preview their coming 'Ultimate Challenge' match at WrestleMania VI. Neither gave much away - it was all shoulder blocks and posturing before a double clothesline spot led to a double down.
People craved more, and they'd get it.
They'd get Hogan "accidentally" eliminating Warrior first. Sheesh! What is up with Hulk and screwing over his so-called buddies in Rumble matches? The red and yellow would go on to reign supreme by winning the 1990 Rumble before temporarily passing the torch to Warrior months later.
Goosebumps for that mid-match showdown.
