100 Greatest WWE Royal Rumble Moments Ever

8. The Undertaker Edges Out Shawn Michaels (2007)

WWE

The Undertaker became the first wrestler to win a Rumble from the #30 position in 2007. That needed to happen, because announcers looked frankly daft by claiming that it was the "easiest" spot to win from. That might've been true on paper, but nobody had been booked to do so, which rendered their claims redundant.

Go back and watch the final moments of the '07 Rumble if you haven't for a while. 'Taker and Shawn Michaels previewed their two WrestleMania battles from 2009 and 2010 by trading finishers before the Phenom had his day by eliminating HBK to win. That capped a workmanlike showing from The Undertaker; he spent 13 minutes in the match despite entering last.

Michaels went longer. He lasted 24 mins before the final sprint vs. one of his most famous opponents. Fans were on the edge of their seats at home, and people were standing in the building as these two titans of WWE scrapped for supremacy and 'Mania magic. It was as intoxicating as it sounds, and you must relive it.

Two masters at the top of their game.
