"Good God almighty, that killed him".

Iconic announcer Jim Ross once uttered that line as Mick Foley tried to pick up pieces of his broken body after tumbling from the top of Hell In A Cell at King of The Ring 1998. JR wasn't on the call for Mick's match with Edge at WrestleMania 22. His old partner Jerry Lawler teamed up with ex-ECW mainstay Joey Styles on commentary instead. Lord only knows what poetry Ross would've come up with for the bout's big set piece.

Lita lit a table precariously camped around ringside on fire just as Mick got back to his feet on the ring apron above. Then, Edge sprinted towards Foley and speared him down and through the flaming wood. In a true, 'you've got to give the people what they want' moment, Styles echoed extreme events of yesteryear by screeching: "OH MY GOD!". Another decimal point was immediately added to his 'Mania payoff, 'cause he'd fulfilled a contractual obligation. Probably.

This bump has been replayed time and time again. It's a true hardcore classic of the WrestleMania age. Foley had long since retired as a full-timer in-ring, but he enjoyed returning to put his body through hell every now and then. Besides, he relished the chance to work with the 'Rated-R Superstar' and do everything he could to elevate Edge's career.

Edge was already one of the most detestable characters going due to his affair with Lita. Now, he could add 'total pyromaniac' to his list of qualities. The flaming spear will live on in the minds of wrestling fans forever.
