The anticipation, the swell of excitement once pennies started to drop, the music. Oh, the music! 'Mania 33 came to life when The Hardys' familiar track blared over the PA in Orlando. Even New Day members Big E, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods (who were acting as guest hosts for the pay-per-view) seemed like they'd rather be introducing Matt and Jeff than working a match on the card.

That's how pulsating the team's comeback was in 2017.

Matt and Jeff proved to be the mystery team in a four-way ladder bout for the Raw Tag-Team Titles on the night. They joined The Good Brothers, Enzo Amore and Big Cass, and The Bar. Fans young and old all seemed to be exactly the same age when the music burst and the brothers danced onto the stage. This was the kind of party-like atmosphere those in attendance will never forget about. It's why people travel from all over the globe to attend 'Mania in person.

WWE did a top job of keeping The Hardys' comeback a secret. Matt and Jeff had worked The Young Bucks on an ROH show that same weekend (which is interesting given AEW's advent!), but they'd assured everyone that rumours of a WrestleMania spot were outlandish. This return caught everyone off guard then.

Only one result made sense. The Hardy Boys won those Raw Tag belts, received another glowing response from people who still couldn't believe what they were seeing, then they lived out perhaps their final worthwhile run as a duo in a major company. This was Hall Of Fame action before your very eyes
