Hulk Hogan helping none other than Randy Savage become WWF Champ at 'Mania IV launched the pair headfirst into a thrilling Mega-Powers story arc that dominated much of 1988 into 1989. By Survivor Series '88, cracks were beginning to appear, and 'Macho Man' soon claimed that the Hulkster had "lust in his eyes" for Miss. Elizabeth. That jealousy came to a head during a tag bout in February.

The Mega-Powers broke up. Soon, they'd "explode" on pay-per-view at WrestleMania V. It was what the world was watching, don't you know? That iconic Gene Okerlund voiceover line is enough to make fans all fuzzy when they watch federation output from this time period. Also, despite the relatively uninspired live crowds at 'Mania IV and V (some of Donald Trump's pals around ringside looked bored as hell), everyone was hyped for Hulk vs. Randy.

They didn't disappoint when it mattered most of all. The match was fantastic, and might be the only one you need to see from the entire 14 bout card. This, fellow fans, was the live in living colour definition of a one match show if there ever was one. Seeing Savage return to his heel roots and try to end Hulk once and for all was loads of fun.

Emotions were high due to Elizabeth's part in the story too. WWF enthusiasts always felt protective of Liz, perhaps because she came across as a real human being amongst hulking, action figure lookalike brutes. All of that story context, and the hard work from Hogan and Savage between the ropes, made this a classic.

Ooh yeah! (Sorry!)
