One of the best 'Mania memories was never meant to happen.

Kofi Kingston wasn't in Vince McMahon's thoughts for 2019's supershow, certainly not as a foe for freshly-turned environmentalist heel (?!) Daniel Bryan. Then, fate intervened. Mustafa Ali was struck down by injury before a gauntlet match in February, and WWE fans decided to strap a rocket to New Day's finest. Enough was enough, they said. It's time for Kofi to become WWE Champ, they said.

OK then, McMahon replied. "KofiMania" was born, but everything had to fall into place for that to become reality. Luckily, Bryan was the perfect champion for Kingston to go up against. WWE knew Daniel would do absolutely everything he could to make Kofi's surprise win even better. Come WrestleMania 35, that's precisely what one of the best to ever lace up a pair of boots did.

Those tears from fellow New Day members Big E and Xavier Woods were 100% genuine. Emotions were high in the watching audience too, partly 'cause everyone could tell this was likely Kofi's one chance to live up to his earlier potential and become a top champion in the promotion. Like any good Hollywood weepy, WWE let happiness thrive. They decided to give everyone a gift so happy it felt like hearts might burst through chests.

Thank God they didn't. That would've been messy.

Seriously though, "KofiMania" was class. Even Bryan himself must've had to fight back a smile as he watched Kingston lose his mind whilst raising the WWE Title high above his head. This will always be viewed as one of the most joyous moments in WrestleMania lore. Always.
