The man billed as 'Canada's Greatest Athlete' was a real-life tough guy with serious in-ring chops bolstered by the athleticism developed during his football career. Kiniski had a 1,131-day run as NWA World Heavyweight Champion, wresting the belt from Lou Thesz in 1966, then dropping it to Dory Funk Jr. three years later, and was inducted into the NWA HOF in 2009.
