11 Best WrestleMania Endings

2. Brothers In Gold

For years, there were no two Superstars more respected among dedicated and die-hard wrestling fans than Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero. They had spent a decade plying their crafts, earning rave reviews for their extraordinary performances across the globe. At the same time, as great as they were, they had struggled to break through the proverbial glass ceiling. Held down by backstage politics in both WCW and WWE, it began to feel as though they were destined to steal shows and make others look great in the midcard.

Then came 2004.

Guerrero defeated Brock Lesnar in the main event of No Way Out in February, paying off a months-long run that saw the second-generation star become the most organically popular star in all of WWE. One month earlier, Benoit knocked off 29 other Superstars to win the Royal Rumble and earn a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship.

At WrestleMania, on the grandest stage of them all, Benoit defeated Triple H and Shawn Michaels in a Triple Threat match to win the title and was immediately greeted by Guerrero, who had tears in his eyes as he came face-to-face with his best friend. The two embraced in the center of the ring, both champions and at the top of the industry they had devoted their entire adulthood to. After so many frustrating years, they celebrated their hard work and dedication paying off, in front of a rabid New York fan base all too eager to join them.
