Cena made an unexpected return at the 2008 Rumble after a prolonged period 'on the shelf'. Around three months earlier, Cena was forced to relinquish the WWE Championship and us gullible fans were told he would miss at least seven months of action. He wouldn't be mentioned on WWE programming in the build up to the Rumble which made his return all the more special. Madison Square Garden went nuts, there's no other way of putting it. Arguably, Cena's entrance in 2008 is the greatest in Rumble history. Upon his music hitting, Cena was immediately installed as favourite as he entered at number 30, he duly delivered. Cena faced Kane, Triple H and Batista in the final four.
