11 Big Ways WWE WrestleMania 32 Has Changed

2. No 100,000 Sell Out

For a long while, fans just took it at face value that Cowboys Stadium would be a 100,000 capacity show for the WWE. After all, NFL and NBA games have done well over 100,000 in the stadium, and WWE will have more use of seating in the ground area. However, industry experts are now scoffing at WWE's fanciful goal of saying they will fill over 100,000 seats with wrestling fans. The real number is expected to be much lower, perhaps around the 85,000 level. That would still be a WWE attendance record, given that WrestleMania 3's 93,173 is thought to be a wildly exaggerated number. Whatever number WWE do next year, they'll exaggerate it to 100,000 no matter what. So, why are the experts saying 100,000 won't happen? The staging is a big part of it. The stage and the ramp eat a good chunk of the stands and floor space, killing a big part of the number. Then there's the fact that WWE simply isn't NBA or NFL. While those brands filled over 100,000 seats, WWE simply isn't the same mainstream draw.
