The mystery partner of Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose ended up being Chris Jericho. The 25-year veteran returned to loud crowd support, one year from the day of his last main roster appearance, when he lost to Randy Orton at last year’s NOC.

While I would have liked to see Daniel Bryan (hey I won’t let it go) Jericho is typically a welcome sight. When I was watching, Jericho looked to be in great physical shape, but at nearly 45 years of age, his wrestling mortality is finally beginning to hit me…Chris Jericho is old.

However, he still is a tremendous performer, and proved it with this match. Not only was he the mystery partner, he was the cause for miscommunication on his team, and the man that eventually lost the battle. His bump of Ambrose’s shoulder may have been the spark that sets up a feud down the line, and a heel turn that would be pretty tough to do.

If anyone can do it, it’s him.
