11 Biggest Stories From IMPACT's Bound For Glory And What They Mean Going Forward

6. Impact Will Return Home To "The Asylum"

Impact Wrestling has come a long way from its initial days as a National Wrestling Alliance subsidiary. Originally known as NWA-TNA, the company began its run in Nashville, Tennessee at The Asylum. By 2004, however, TNA had outgrown the arena and moved to Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. Through highs and lows, they remained at the Impact Zone until late last year before again moving shop to Toronto, Canada.

Still, many of Impact’s fans remember those early days at The Asylum when Jeff Jarrett valiantly attempted to thwart Vince Russo’s S.E.X. faction. They remember AJ Styles winning his first NWA Championship and the steady stream of talents from up north like Raven, Scott Hall, and even Ken Shamrock that made stops in Nashville.

On Sunday night, it was announced that the promotion will once again return to their birthplace for their first pay-per-view of 2019. On 6 January, Impact will present Homecoming - having last visited The Asylum for a house show in 2010. While Impact has continued to rebuild and reestablish itself for much of this year, 2019’s first event will see the company pay homage to its roots.
