No Albano and no Anoa'i's here. When discussing second generation wrestlers who didn't live up to the success of their fathers, David Flair is a name that almost ubiquitously comes up. When your father is Ric Flair I think this can be excused; David was on a hiding to nothing from the start.

Flair Jr. didn't really have any great interest in becoming a wrestler, and this lack of true passion (which is understandable) was clear from the moment he began to make his first in-ring steps in WCW. Despite this David was able to capture the United States Championship on a single occasion, although he was presented the title by his father and only defended it with the help of the Four Horsemen.

Father Ric won the same title six times during his storied career. His daughter Charlotte is the current WWE Women's Champion, and is doing a much better job of continuing the Flair legacy of defending titles via cheating.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
