11 Head-Scratchingly Long WWE Royal Rumble Performances

8. Phineas Godwinn - 28:48 (1998)

By 1998, the WWE was beginning to embrace the 'Attitude' mentality that would define it for the next three years and become central to the company's ultimate victory over World Championship Wrestling (WCW) in the 'Monday Night Wars' There were still a significant number of 'relics' on the roster at the start of the year, however, as numerous performers who had been tasked with playing ridiculous characters over the course of the previous years remained in employment, yet to be terminated or repackaged into grittier and/or more realistic characters. Two such characters were Henry O. and Phineas I. Godwinn, who were ostensibly pig farmers from Arkansas (hence their alliterative names) and somehow won the Tag Team Championships on two occasions. Despite lasting under three minutes in his debut Rumble in 1997, Phineas entered at #6 in 1998, beating his previous best almost ten times over by remaining in competition for 28 minutes before being eliminated by Mark Henry. Much like Thrasher and 8-Ball, there was no apparent reason for him to remain in proceedings for so long, particularly given that the roster at the time featured many more renowned performers who could've taken such a spot.
