11 Head-Scratchingly Long WWE Royal Rumble Performances

9. 8-Ball - 30:43 (1998)

Ron Harris and his brother Don were repackaged no fewer than three times by the WWE during their two stints with the company in the second half of the nineties. Initially debuting as the Blu Brothers with Uncle Zebekiah (Zeb Colter) as their manager in 1995, they made subsequent re-debuts as the 'Grimm Twins' in 1996 and then as '8-Ball and Skull' in 1997, becoming a part of Crush's Disciple Of Apocalypse faction as the latter to up the numbers in a 'Gang War' storyline that saw Crush and company take on Faarooq's African-American Nation of Domination group and Savio Vega's Puerto Rican stable. Many members of these factions were entered into the 1998 Rumble, including 8-Ball, who proceeded to continuously remain in the match for half an hour after entering at #7, becoming the fourth-longest entrant of the year in the process despite taking part in just one elimination - the obligatory 'several men team up to throw out a giant' routine. Given that Skull didn't take part in the match (he was announced as entry #22 but didn't enter the match 'due to injury'), there wasn't even an opportunity for him to take part in any tag team spots. Like Thrasher, he was seemingly present only to be disposed of by Steve Austin when he eventually entered at #24, making the decision to have him enter the match so much earlier remain perplexing to this day.
