A well-told story driven primarily by MJF's excellence on the microphone, this match will provide a degree of separation amongst AEW's Four Pillars, with the victor potentially elevated towards World Title contendership.

Thinking about what might happen next helps predict the outcome. If AEW is to run with a heel champion for the next arc or so, then elevating Darby as a potential challenger post-Miro/Bryan Danielson makes a lot of sense, given how over the guy is. Similarly, MJF stands out as a potential challenger at Revolution should Hangman Page topple Kenny Omega.
