11 HUGE AEW Full Gear 2022 Predictions You Need To Know

4. Death Triangle (c) Vs The Elite

Death Triangle The Elite
AEW

Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks love a bit of ring rust lore.

When AEW first launched in 2019, the trio most accused of killing the core tenets of the industry were so obsessed with preserving them that they sold their EVP-related absence as a reason for them losing matches and getting beaten down in various settings. They'd been out the game setting up a wrestling company and had temporarily forgotten the grind of simply being wrestlers.

There's a sound argument for all of that to be used again here, and it may be one taking place as you read this, but The Elite should go against those instincts as much as possible and simply ensure this match kicks f*cking *ss and reminds the world why Tony Khan made the various decisions he did in the wake of All Out 2022.

CM Punk is gone and these men are not. AEW's hardest of hardcores wanted it that way, and now the reset button must be pressed to try and make the best of what had up until now been a very, very bad situation. Death Triangle are perfect opponents in every aspect even if they have to fall on the sword, and PAC's hammer obsession in the weeks leading up to the show might even be their narrative undoing before the returning heroes re-ascend.

Winners - The Elite
