1. WWE Championship - AJ Styles Vs. Rusev

It would be rather fitting if AJ Styles' tepid WWE Championship reign came to an end at the hands of the once-white-hot Rusev, even though the company wouldn't be picking a worse time to give 'The Bulgarian Brute' their biggest accolade.

The feud is approximately six months too late, with enthusiasm on the wane for Rusev Day after one too many needless defeats and a complete miscommunication between management and performers as to which side of the babyface/heel divide he sits.

WWE have cultivated that sort of fleeting sentiment anyway - fans are still knackered from dragging Daniel Bryan to WrestleMania XXX, and use their last ounces of energy now to jeer Roman Reigns above all else. There was a time where any title on Rusev was a giant leap in a direction he deserved to be headed in, but at this point his victory would only render 'shock' on the scale, rather than any kind of deserved adulation.

Rusev warrants a meaningful grasp of the brass ring eventually, but the second angry foreigner to win the title by fluke in as many years? Nah-chka.
