11 Hugely Talented WWE Stars Who Were Fired Too Soon

11. Christy Hemme

The winner of the 2004 Diva Search, Christy Hemme became a major player in WWE's women's division quickly after her victory. Just seven months into her career, she was featured on the cover of Playboy magazine and was booked in the Women's Championship match against Trish Stratus at WrestleMania 21. Christy was featured on the cover of the 2005 Divas swimsuit special and was presented as the top female babyface on the roster following Lita's injury in January. Yet, despite the major push she was given, she was quickly drafted to SmackDown and paired with the latest incarnation of the Legion of Doom, Road Warrior Animal and Heidenreich. Then, suddenly in November of 2005, she was released from her contract with little or no reason for such a drastic move. Sure, she was still in the infancy of her wrestling training and had not delivered much in the way of good matches but to release her so soon was shocking. She would go on to TNA, where she showed great promise as a spunky underdog competitor, especially in matches against Awesome Kong, but a neck injury ended her time in the ring before it could really get going. She has served as a ring announcer for the company for quite some time now and recently joined the creative team, where she can put her mind to use by coming up with new and exciting concepts for the marketing of the company, as well as the occasional storyline idea. Had WWE kept her around, Christy could have become the face of the Divas division or, at the very least, been key in the marketing and merchandising of the company's female performers.
