Former Divas Champion Kaitlyn most likely harboured some resentment toward Stephanie McMahon. The muscular diva had been champion for quite some time, when she made the silly error of interrupting Stephanie backstage in 2013. The Chief Brand Officer was occupied in a private discussion with someone else, something which Kaitlyn didn't take the care to respect. Steph scolded the diva over her rudeness and then a few weeks later we watched as AJ Lee pinned Kaitlyn for the title. Had Stephanie booked this result as a way of teaching the diva a lesson? Probably. That wasn't the end of it. A short time later, a Raw segment took place where Stephanie gave Kaitlyn an evil glare and warned her never to interrupt her again. It didn't seem to have any purpose for TV, other than as a way of hanging out dirty laundry in public. We're pretty sure that Kaitlyn was left feeling humiliated and angry over this treatment. Further evidence that she maybe hates Steph is the abrupt exit she made from WWE in 2014. Despite only being young, she retired from wrestling and became a fitness instructor.
