11 Most Brutal Acts Of Revenge In MMA History

6. Chuck FINALLY Gets His Hands On Tito

When it comes to fighters who really thrust the world of MMA and the UFC into the mainstream spotlight, Chuck Liddell is seen as one of the first major needle-movers. Likewise, Tito Ortiz is another who helped usher in a golden era of UFC.

After Tito regularly proclaimed himself as the best in his weight class as he walked around as UFC Light Heavyweight Champion for three years, the annoying thing for Chuck Liddell is that Ortiz was ducking The Iceman.

Throughout Ortiz’s time as champ, Chuck amassed eight consecutive victories of his own. Yet regardless of Liddell’s wins, The Huntington Beach Bad Boy refused to fight him – Tito citing a previous promise the pair had apparently made to never fight each other.

By the time that Liddell vs. Ortiz finally happened at UFC 47, Tito had already lost the Light Heavyweight Championship to Randy Couture. Still, Liddell got one of the greatest KO wins in UFC history in that meeting, as he was laser-focussed in taking out his frustration on the face of Tito Ortiz.

A second fight would follow two years later at UFC 66 – Liddell again coming out victorious – before a clearly over-the-hill Iceman came out of an eight-year retirement to be KO’d in the first round by Ortiz at last November’s Golden Boy event.
