A man born of intense dedication and an intensity that few can match, Punk was always an exciting performer during his time in WWE. He holds the distinction of being the 'longest reigning WWE Champion of the modern era', holding the belt for 434 days. Unfortunately, as was extremely well publicized and scrutinized in the year 2014, Punk parted ways with WWE over an extremely acrimonious year. For the longest time after he walked out the night after the Royal Rumble, the fans could only speculate what had caused him to leave, but in November Punk told his story on his good friend Colt Cabana's podcast. Rest assured, the chances of Punk returning to WWE anytime soon are slim to none, which is a real blow for fans and for the company, as Punk was a great asset to them. He is now, of course, training for competing in UFC, which will be an intriguing thing to behold. Before his time in WWE, Punk was one of the major stars of ROH in it's early years. He and Samoa Joe competed in a legendary series of matches, featuring two sixty minute time limit draws, and also took part in what was dubbed 'The Summer Of Punk', in which he won the ROH World Championship and then threatened to take it with him to WWE, where he had signed a deal. This nickname was again used to describe Punk's infamous 'pipebomb' promo and feud with John Cena in 2011, in which he won the WWE title and 'left' the company with it, before returning to reignite the rivalry..
