11 Most Underrated Wrestling Tag Teams That Were Short Lived

10. Head Cheese (Al Snow & Steve Blackman)

Aside from having one of the greatest tag team names OF ALL TIME, the partnership of Snow and Blackman was damn near pitch perfect. They worked well together in the ring, but it was their backstage shenanigans that really made Head Cheese work. The whole idea of Al Snow trying to find a suitable gimmick for Blackman that might trick audiences into thinking he actually had a personality was spot-on, and it was one of the more clever uses of the fourth wall that WWE has pulled off. Every good comedy duo needs a straight man, and Steve Blackman was the straightest of all men. (Err...well, he was a very serious fellow, at least. Blackman was just an "all business" kind of guy, and was notoriously awful at cutting promos. And the fact is he really wasn't getting over with crowds until he was paired with Al Snow. The pairing of two psychotics (to varying degrees) was a rare instance of WWE just tossing two guys together in the hopes of some sparks flying that actually worked. But as was typically the case, they didn't know what to do with them once the sparks did fly, and Steve Blackman was moved into a role as a Hardcore contender.
